My Style

My style is one of fun, comfort, and personality. I believe your photos should reflect the moments you are living today, since those moments will be gone all too soon. Whether I’m photographing families, babies, or preganant bellies, I want to capture your personality just as you are. I love toddlers who insist on wearing their favorite red fuzzy pants every day. I love girls who think they are Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I like capturing the scowls of the too-cool boys who want nothing less than to have their picture taken. I want to catch you being who you are today, whatever that means. Whether the fingernails are dirty or manicured, the hair is done with a comb or an eggbeater, I want to capture you as you are in this moment.

          
My Equipment

I am 100% digital and use top of the line Nikon professional equipment to capture your images.

 Your Session

Going along with the casual, fun style of photography, I believe that people are best photographed in familiar or fun surroundings. I will come to your home or meet you at an outdoor location where you can be yourself and laugh and have a good time (locations farther than 20 miles from my home in 21076 will be an additional $2/mile charge, but I am not available to travel outside of Maryland). 

Tuesday thru Friday Session Rate- $155
Saturday Session Rate- $185

Session fees include up to five people in your household (please add $10 for each additional subject or extended family member) and include the time and talent of your photographer during your session and post-production, as well as a $75 print credit. Fees are paid when sessions are booked, by cash, check or Paypal. Sessions will be assumed cancelled if payment has not been received 7 days prior to appointment, unless an arrangement has been made with photographer. If you are interested in three or more sessions a year, please contact me personally for special pricing.

Your Photos

Proofs from your shoot will be online within a week of your session date. Proofs will remain online for 7 days, within which time you must use your print credit. If an order is not placed within the 7 days, print credit is forfeited and a $20 fee will apply to re-upload images.  All images are archived for one year (minimum) and can be re-ordered at any time in that year at current prices.

If you would like to purchase images from your session on DVD and make your own prints, you may do so for $175.  Print credit may be used towards purchase of DVD.                                                             

Finished portraits are printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper and will be ready for pick up within two weeks.  Portraits 16x20 and larger are mounted on artist board to ensure longevity (available on smaller sizes for additional fee).

Preparing For Your Session:

Sessions usually last about an hour, so be sure to schedule at a time when there is no rush, everyone is rested, and bellies are full. Don’t over-coach your kids on how to behave and smile. I want to come and gain their trust and friendship, and that is sometimes harder to do if they are stressed about what we are trying to do. 

Families:  Kids just want to have fun and be comfortable, so keep that in mind when preparing for your session. Simple clothing is best…steer clear of big, bold patterns and clothing with logos. Solids colors always make for a classic look. (All of these rules apply to adults as well!) Nothing is cuter than naked toes, and I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t like being barefooted, so keep the shoes in the closet.  Please have favorite things close at hand, whether it be a stuffed animal, blanket, hat, whatever. These things add personality to your photos, and sometimes soothe an unsure subject. 

Babies:   Please schedule a session for your newborn as soon as you are ready for company once home from the hospital. The best photos are taken in the first week to ten days of life, before baby acne and colic can set in. Again, I like to keep it casual, so scheduling the session is all the preparation you need for this one. Give me a baby in a diaper and I’ll go to town!

Maternity:  Belly photos are best taken between 34-38 weeks. Simple clothing is best. White or black tank tops and a pair of button top jeans (maternity or not) are great! 

Specialty Sessions

 Trash the Dress:  Who wouln't love an excuse to wear their wedding dress just once more? Whether you've been married for a week, a year,or a decade, these sessions, whether alone or with your groom, are a ton of fun! You must be willing to get a little dirty and be a little adventurous. Trash the Dress sessions start at $250, and last about two hours. Also included is a hard cover coffee table book including 20 of your favorite images. Call for more details.

Boudoir Sessions:  If you are looking for the perfect groom's gift, or surprise for a special birthday or anniversary, there is none more intimate than this. Very tastefully done, your hubby will be so excited to *not* show his friends. Boudoir sessions start at $250, and can last up to two hours. Included is attention-to-detail editing to make you look fabulous, and a hard cover coffee table book including 20 of your favorite images. Call for more details.

Rescheduling

I totally understand that kids get sick and things come up at work, so please give me as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule our session. I would much prefer to reschedule if that is what it takes to get photos you will be completely satisfied with.  Kids with runny noses or dads on a tight time schedule are not always camera-friendly. But keep in mind that one of the luxuries of digital photography is being able to edit out scratches, scabs and other small injuries or blemishes, so you may not have to reschedule when someone takes that unexpected plunge off the bed face first.  (Prepaid session fees can be applied to the rescheduled session.  Session fees are forfeited if rescheduled more than once, and a new fee will be required to secure a new session.)

I rely heavily on natural light, so if your session falls on a dark or rainy day, I may request to reschedule.  The client will not be held responsible for sessions that need to be rescheduled due to weather or at the photographer’s request.
